Places
of Interest to Visit in Edinburgh

For
those who like to keep fit while on holiday there is
the Olympic standard Commonwealth Pool and Leisure Centre
which is only a 5 minutes walk away.
Included is also a children's pool, diving pool and
a full range of fitness equipment.
If you keep walking past the swimming pool you will
enter the Royal Park and see in front of you Arthur's
Seat which is an extinct volcano. There is a path which
you can follow to the top and from there you will have
a spectacular view of the City of Edinburgh and Fife.
For those who do not want to walk up the hill there
is a road and you can drive to the top and enjoy the
view that way.

Calton
Hill offers some of the best views of the City Centre
of Edinburgh and is easily accessible. It only requires
the climbing of a few flights of steps from Waterloo
Place, a continuation of Princes Street, to be rewarded
with panoramic views.
It
is only a mile to the High Street from the Guest House
and this is where there are many sites of historical
interest, including, the Castle, St. Giles Cathedral,
John Knox's House and Holyrood Palace.
It is well worth taking a walk down the High Street
to savour the atmosphere. We have compiled several folders
full of information about the City and about the attractions
you can visit during your stay.
This information is available for use by all of our
guests. of course, Peter or Fiona are available to answer
your questions and offer advice when required.
